Editorial policy

We publish field notes and field guides for operators who make decisions with them. That only works if you can check our work, so here is how we handle it.

Statistics carry a source

Every statistic we publish is tied to a named source, linked where a public link exists. If a number comes from research rather than from client work, we say so on the page next to the number. We do not recycle unattributed industry figures.

Models are labeled

Calculators, charts, and scorecards on this site are illustrative models unless the page says otherwise. They show the shape of a relationship, not client data or a promised result. Anywhere we use an example portfolio, it is labeled as an example.

Updated dates mean something

A visible updated date appears only when we have substantively changed a piece: new sources, revised numbers, or a changed recommendation. We do not refresh dates to look current, and we do not quietly rewrite an argument without marking it.

Named authors

Posts are written by the named author shown in the byline and author box, not by an anonymous content desk. If we get something wrong, tell us and we will correct it on the page and note the change.
